Oana Mihaela Vladu

Dr. Oana-Mihaela VLADU is currently Associate Professor, PhD at the “Carol I” National Defence University, Faculty of Security and Defence, Department of Multinational Operations, Strategic and Security Studies.
She is a European Graduate of a Master’s Degree in Military and Information Sciences, Curriculum “Crisis Management and Conflict Prevention,” “Carol I” National Defence University, Bucharest, Class of 2013.
​Her Doctoral Thesis was in the field of Information and National Security, “Carol I” National Defence University, Bucharest, 2013-2016, and was completed by defending the doctoral thesis, entitled : “Evolution of Euro-Atlantic Strategies for Conflict Prevention and Management in the Post-Cold War Period.”
​Her Postgraduate studies are in Military Sciences, Intelligence, and Public Order, which include continuous professional training and development program in the “Introduction to National Security,” proposed by the National Defence College / Department of Security and Leadership Studies, “Carol I” National Defence University, Bucharest.
​She did a Postgraduate Course, entitled «The Senior Course on Security Policy in Europe» at the Swedish Defence University, Stockholm, Sweden.
​She also has done Psychopedagogical postgraduate training to certify competencies for the teaching profession – Level I, at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Teacher Training Department; and Psychopedagogical postgraduate training to certify competencies for the teaching profession – Level II, at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Teacher Training Department; and also «Foreign Policy and Diplomacy», organized by the Romanian Diplomatic Institute.
​She continues to do professional trainings , such as the Initiation/Improvement program for the profession (common competencies) Expert in Corruption Prevention and Fight; and the Initiation/Improvement program for the profession (common competencies) Specialist in Quality Management, organized by “Spiru Haret” University.
​A defining moment and a high recognition of her research work was the meeting with His Excellency, Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary General. On this occasion, she had the honor of personally presenting him with one of her published books, thus underlining the Romanian academic environment’s contribution to European strategic debates and the international security dialogue.
