Ellen Wasylina invited to a G20 round table on Zero Waste

The President and founder of the Trocadéro Forum Institute was invited to the G20 in New Delhi, India to share her expertise and best practices as former Director of Environment and Sustainable Development of a French city.

The Turkish delegation organised the roundtable under the auspices of the Directorate of Communication of the Turkish Presidency.

The “Zero Waste” initiative, created under the auspices of First Lady Emine Erdoğan, encompasses waste prevention, more efficient use of resources, waste generation reduction, the establishment of an effective waste collection system, and recycling while being a roadmap for a green future, reminding humanity that a waste-free and sustainable life is possible. In addition, on December 14, 2022, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the “Zero Waste” resolution, which was presented by Türkiye, with 105 other countries. March 30 has been proclaimed “International Day of Zero Waste” per the resolution of the General Assembly.

The panel was moderated by Kilic Kanat, and the discussion was led by :

Dr. Valeria Giannotta – Coordinator of CeSPI Türkiye Observation Centre

o Dr. Ashish Chaturvedi – Head of Action for Climate and Environment, UNDP India

o Ellen Wasylina – President and founder of the Trocadéro Forum Institute (TFI)

o Dr. Ruby Makhija – Founder and Director of Why Waste Wednesdays Foundation

Ms. Wasylina’s speech was broken down into three parts : Recycling, Economics Social Governance (ESG) Investment, and the necessity for a sustainable business model .
